Designated by Architectural Digest as one of the best five shops in Aspen, Paris Underground is a unique source for midcentury modern French antiques and accessories.
Since opening in the summer of 2002, the shop has quickly become a shopping destination for interior designers, discerning shoppers and collectors who are surprised to find a trove of fabulous French mid-century antiques and accessories in the middle of a mountain town.
"Recently, interior designers have discovered Aspen’s best-kept secret: great shopping," proclaimed AD, lauding Paris Underground for its French furniture and stylish lamps, mirrors and accessories. But while many pieces decorate some of Aspen’s best homes, most of the shop’s inventory is shipped out of town to homes on both coasts.
Owned by Laura Blocker, Paris Underground has an eclectic mix of rustic and glamorous pieces, many by major furniture designers who made the 1930s and 1940s Paris a revolution in modern style: Jean Royere, Maxime Old, Raymond Subes, Jules Leleu, Rene Prou and many others. The shop also carries incredibly stylish one-of-a-kind finds ranging from chandeliers by Venini and Barovier to pottery from Vallauris.
We hope you enjoy this virtual journey to a unique shopping experience in Aspen, Colorado.
