Brown Jordan

Brown Jordan

A sun-bathed Southern California upbringing makes Brown Jordan a rightful pioneer in the outdoor furniture industry. While the poolside pieces of Russell Woodard could be considered precursors, it was Brown Jordan pieces—colorful, strappy, and divinely shaped— that truly catapulted outdoor pieces from novelty to necessity. Whether coincidence or meticulously planned, Brown Jordan was founded in Pasadena in 1945, just as the San Gabriel valley was becoming rich with architects like Charles Eames and Richard Neutra; their experimental indoor-outdoor homes almost single-handedly composing the need for supremely beautiful outdoor furniture.
