Named in tribute to Andrew Jackson and his “Old Hickory” moniker, the Old Hickory Furniture Company first set up shop in an abandoned Indiana church in 1892. Utilizing hickory trunks both woven or boiled until bendable, Old Hickory Furniture Company pieces feature a craftsman aesthetic similar to that of Gustav Stickley. Simultaneously; however, they’re unique for their quintessential, lodge-like appearance. In fact, in 1906 the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone was furnished exclusively with Old Hickory chairs.
