PAUL STAMATI GALLERY was founded in 1982. At that time it was located at the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center, dealing in French Art Nouveau and antiques. In 1987 it merged with Chasen Antiques and was located at 985 Madison Avenue under the name of Chasen-Stamati Gallery. Based on both partners knowledge and expertise the Gallery was dealing in French Art Nouveau glass lamps and furniture by makers like Galle, Daum , Majorelle and American glass and lamps particularly Tiffany. Louis Icart etchings and paintings played an important role also. In 1989 the partnership was dissolved and the newly reinstated Paul Stamati Gallery returned to the Manhattan Art and Antiques Center. At that time we moved from dealing in Art Nouveau to Art Deco, with no changes to the present.
