more This 19th century grandfather clock is from the Brittany area of France and has stood the test of time very well. Standing about 8ft. tall the clock features a key wound eight day movement driven by two iron weights. The clock strikes the hour and half hour on a bell. The large brass and metal pendulum compensates for temperature variations and helps the clock to be a more accuarte time keeper. The case is carved on its sides and front along with a 7" top piece which is removeable. In front and at the bottom there is a carved panel with a man and woman in a country scene.
