This Antique May Qualify For Our GALLERY WIDE SALE,
Going On NOW. Please Inquire.
Offered for your approval, this 1953 totally restored MG-TD2, for sale by collector owner. Owner is Movie Star Cars of Dallas and the car has been gently used in advertising in recent years.
Note: On April 6, 2012 a restored 1951 MG-TD sold for $71,500.00 at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach FL. Google it or see last scan in this ad for the document copy. This 1953 model is more desirable as it was the last model year for the TD. Our car is as nice or nicer than the $71,500.00 car. Our price is well below market! Just reduced in price with a large discount to be applied. Ask us!
Top down driving weather is here!!!!!!!!! The trees are flowering and the weather is perfect for top down driving. Get into this fabulous 1950s roadster and take a glorious country drive!!!!! Bring back the classic days of motoring and impress everyone with a unique original motorcar!!!!!!!
This frame off restored MG-TD2 was brought down to a nuts and bolts restoration on a nice, solid one owner car that was a bit tired but still very presentable, and now has around 1000 miles on the car since being restored. This is the last year for the MG-TD and this model is the MG-TD2 as shown on the brass factory ID plate. The TD-2 was the latest and last model TD and had the larger 8 inch factory clutch. The last model in a series of appreciating classics for the 1953 models.
This car was always cared for from new by the same family and was never left to rot in a field or garage!!!!! Always adult owned, never raced, never abused. Note: This car has no paint defects but some photos show reflections from the chrome onto the paint and these photo flaws are only overexposed reflections from the chrome and not paint defects. All records available of restoration. Ask for list. Everything was done and we have all paper records to show this: Engine rebuilt. Transmission rebuilt. New clutch. New suspension. All new electricals. New euro correct size tires. New top and side curtains. New tonneau. New wood frame. All new. All correct. Everything was redone to showroom standards.
Owner expects it to appraise for $72,900.00-$79,900.00 in 2017. Documented market auction sale price in April 2012 is $71,500.00 for a very similar vehicle. This great car was built and completed at the MG factory as a 1953 model on 31 Dec. 1952. It was delivered as a 1953 MG-TD2. It was shipped to the USA and bought and owned by the original buyer family, kept and driven properly by them and eventually, totally restored by them at a professional European Classic restoration shop until sold to the current owner with 490 miles on the restored vehicle. We have all restoration documents and details. This car is documented and listed in the MG TD Registry. This is not a backyard or filling station
Chassis miles around 44,000 from 1953. In the owners opinion this is as close to perfect as you will find anywhere. No dents, dings, bad panels. No body rust, short cuts, backyard work. Bring your magnifying glass for this one! Adult owned. Never raced or tracked. Most 'bargain' TD cars for sale are junk boxes, rusted out, mildewed, rotted out or very incorrect, or look ok at 25' away, but not up close, or are replica level bastardizations, or need a full $70,000.00 restoration.
Look close at the other junk or semi junk out there. You get what you pay for... Always! This car has had all the work done! Never exposed to rain or snow. Never hosed washed but sponge and bucket only. Only Griots, Meguiars, Mothers detail products used in owners 'pro' detail shop/garage. No high speed buffers ever used but only random orbitals with foam pads to keep paint like new. Top and side curtains are new Haartz canvas with new side windows and side curtains. Five New correct factory size approved Vredestein tires. Tonneau cover and spare tire cover are new. Correct wheels; correct hub caps; correct original engine; matching numbers; rust free; fabulous in every way. Look at all the others for sale and you will find that they are not correct and they are rough or come from junk yard level cars. This car is a rare diamond!!!!!!! Detailed engine! Zero body rust. Several correct period aftermarket accessories and dealer upgrades have been added. New Optima battery; recent brakes; tuned; all restoration records go with car. All electricals correct; new and work 100%. During restoration all gauge dials and steering wheel sent back to England for restoration to like new. New Green English hides. Seats restored to new condition inside out! Serviced now by MG expert in Dallas
Please view the photos and see for yourself how nice the car is. Note how the correct grill slats match the interior color. Note correct driving lights and badges on correct badge bar. Note the correct size 'as new' tires and wheels. Note correct badges; correct engine; original NOS parts. Note Haartz top grade canvas not plastic or nylon. This is the correct look for this car. Even complete with wood British fuel measuring stick, wood radiator cap wrench and like new factory owners manual. No excuses here. Minor issue: Original factory clock is correct and in place, but has stopped working. Everything is beautiful on this car. Inside and out! Desirable factory custom primrose yellow color! Not like other GM or Ford yellows! Owner drives this car on sunny Sundays in and around the neighborhood only, so it is driven and not on a pedestal or museum floor, but still looks like a worshipped pedestal car and a fabulous trailer queen. Always turns heads!! Always insulated garage kept with auto fire suppression and humidity control. Ask for more pictures if you are serious.

This car will appreciate in value due to its pristine and gorgeous condition and beautiful rare color combinations. Remember, this is the last year of the MG-TD.
Note: Owner will consider full or partial trades for a Classic sports car, as well as reasonable offers. Porsche 356, MB 230-280SL, Jag early XK DHC or FHC, 550 Spyder correct replica, early 911, Aston, early Corvette, early Alfa, or similar trades will be considered.

While we do our best to display photos that are as accurate as possible, our photos may or may not depict the absolute EXACT hue or color tone of our antiques due to the many variables in image photography, image exporting, image uploading and viewer monitor accuracy. Please ask about color tone and hue BEFORE buying, if this is a concern!
