moreAnne Curry is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Her outdoor sculpture has been exhibited at major exhibition gardens around the UK and her work can be found in collections across Europe. Her work is currently on exhibition as part of the international show "Personal Structures" at Palazzo Mora, Venice Biennale, until November 2017.
Drawing inspiration from plant forms, her work evokes the power of life at work in nature. At its core are the curves, spirals of growth, the unfolding of leaves and flowers, the bursting of seed pods (as here) - all of which imply controlled movement, a disciplined and mathematical progression. In this piece there is a powerful sense of the immense energy within, what would in nature appear, a static object. The photographs illustrates this sculpture in a resin casting in the artist's own sculpture garden.
Please note the following: The price and images relate to a resin casting. Orders are freshly cast either in resin or bronze with the bronze price being quoted on request. A variety of coloured finish options are available for both materials (please see additional photographs of other sculptures by the same artist with the following finishes in order: bronze brown/anthracite grey/deep blue/rust.
Here the finish is in a verdigris tone, a colour which is particularly well suited to northern climes, but if your location is further south other tones also work well - particularly the navy blue.
Lead times are approximately 6-8 weeks for resin, and 12-14 weeks for bronze, plus shipping in both cases, confirmed on enquiry. Installation can be arranged with our shippers. less
