While Herman Miller produced the original Pretzel chair, production ceased due to fragility issues. Materials for the chairs remained; however, and were obtained by Plycraft who hired on Cherner to design a more durable version of it. Regrettably, it was Plycraft who took credit for the design, though suit was later filed. While the pretzel chair is an obvious icon for Norman Cherner décor, it certainly doesn’t equate it. A passionate advocate of do-it-yourself, his pieces are modular, but paired with an undeniable tone of grace.
