Lightolier Lighting used to be known as the New York Gas and Appliance Co. While we’ll admit it lacks a little ring, it certainly does exude their utmost authority.
Lighting it up since 1904, Lightolier ingeniously bridges the words “light” and “chandelier” to create the most resplendent of nom de plumes. In the first half of the 20th-Century the company was devoted to producing fancy, old-school chandeliers; however, post-WWII, Lightolier pieces became a bit more avant garde, as designers like Tommi Parzinger and Edward Wormley were contracted to showcase their visionary takes on lighting. Their partialities? Futuristic forms and the newest and brightest materials, including resin, acrylic, and chrome.
