Koloman Moser

Koloman Moser

In 1897, Vienna was revolting against the effects of the Industrial Revolution. Properly known as the Vienna Succession, the movement was spearheaded by Gustav Klimt, Josef Hoffmann, and Koloman Moser among others. Their attempt to counteract the grit of Industrialism was to wash life—everything from clothing to art to furniture—artistic expression and opulent material. Koloman Moser pieces were especially characteristic of this ideology, opting for enchanting Art Noveau influences that speak to both the past and future.
