Keith Haring

Keith Haring

Description

While featuring simple images and linear, almost comical lines, Keith Haring’s art evokes his powerful narrative on social issues such as racism, AIDS, addiction, and sexuality.

Paradigmatic of 1980s street art, Keith Haring’s pieces, specifically Crack is Wack (1986), can still be found on New York City public buildings today. As a prominent leader of the Neo Pop Art movement, Haring has inspired a new generation of artists including photorealist Doug Bloodworth. Lamentably, the artist lost a battle with AIDS in 1990 and authentic Keith Haring decor has since risen in prestige and notoriety.
