Cor Alons

Cor Alons

While mid 20th-Century Dutch design was often overshadowed by the large-scale Scandinavian design movement, maker Cor Alons stands as testament to the Netherlands’ simple, yet decidedly poetic Mid-Century aesthetic. Composed primarily of lacquered plywood, Cor Alons pieces are reminiscent of Ray and Charles Eames’ molded plywood lounge chair, but feature a wider breadth of shapes and scales. Aerodynamic, yet modular—and sometimes convertible— these are pieces that feel shockingly of-the-moment despite being created over half a decade ago.
