Adrian Pearsall

Adrian Pearsall

Yes, he designed the gondola sofa, but look closely and you’ll see Adrian Pearsall’s furniture owed a bit more to outer space than Venetian canals. A master of proportion, the American-born Pearsall worked his magic by exaggerating a chair back here; elongating a sofa bench there. Like fellow designers Vladimir Kagan, Adrian Pearsall’s pieces honored the Mid-Century’s appetite for atomic style, yet decades later, his work still maintains a thoroughly of-the-moment feel.
